Ram Pothineni has turned director with his upcoming film, tentatively titled RaPo23. He is also playing the lead role in the film, which is currently being shot in Puducherry, where the makers have erected a massive set. Ram seems to be leaving no stone unturned for his ambitious directorial debut. According to sources, Ram recently completed an intense 24-hour shooting stretch on the outskirts of Puducherry.

What makes the schedule even more demanding is that Ram is not only calling the shots as director but is also playing the lead role. A massive setup was created in Puducherry for the schedule, which continued for nearly nine days. Sources suggest that Ram has been pushing himself hard as an actor while simultaneously overseeing every aspect of the film as its director. The scale at which RaPo23 is being mounted is also said to be one of the major talking points within the team.

However, unexpected rains disrupted the Puducherry schedule, forcing the unit to temporarily halt filming and return to Hyderabad. The team is expected to head back to Puducherry soon to complete the remaining portions on the same massive set.

With Ram taking on the dual responsibility of actor and director and putting himself through such demanding schedules, RaPo23 appears to be shaping up as one of his most ambitious projects yet.

Produced by Krishna Pothineni under Rapo Cinematics, the film is being mounted on a large scale. RaPo23 is said to be a psychological action thriller with the story unfolding against a dark and intriguing neo-noir backdrop.

The film has a strong technical team on board. National Award-winning cinematographer Thirunavukarasu (Thirru) is handling the camera, promising striking and atmospheric visuals. The action department features the combined expertise of Vikram Mor and acclaimed stunt choreographer Peter Hein, while production designer AS Prakash is creating elaborate sets to complement the film’s expansive scale and distinctive visual world.

More updates regarding the cast, characters and upcoming schedules are expected in the coming months.
