Akhil Akkineni finally scored a much-needed blockbuster with Lenin, ending a decade-long wait for a major box-office success. Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, the film was jointly produced by Nagarjuna Akkineni and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under the Manam Enterprises and Sithara Entertainments banners. Bhagyashri Borse played the female lead, and the film was released in theatres on July 10.

Now, the film is all set for its digital premiere much sooner than expected. Less than a month after its theatrical release, Lenin will begin streaming exclusively on ZEE5 from August 7. Having emerged as the biggest hit of Akhil Akkineni's career, the action-packed rural entertainer is expected to reach a wider audience through its OTT release.

Apart from Akhil and Bhagyashri Borse, the film also stars Sivaji, Sunil, Easwari Rao, Brahmaji, Getup Srinu, Ramki and Pramod Panju in pivotal roles. The music is composed by Thaman S, while Leon Britto handled the cinematography and Navin Nooli took care of the editing.

Set in a village in rural Andhra Pradesh, Lenin follows the journey of a fearless young man whose personal life gradually turns into a battle against injustice. What begins as an emotional love story soon transforms into an intense conflict involving family bonds, power struggles and the determination to protect his people. Blending action, romance, emotions and commercial elements, the film turned out to be a successful comeback for Akhil.

Akhil Akkineni's performance, Murali Kishor Abburu's rooted storytelling and Thaman S's powerful background score received widespread appreciation from audiences. The film went on to become the highest-grossing movie of Akhil's career. It also proved to be a breakthrough film for Bhagyashri Borse, giving the young actor much-needed recognition in Telugu cinema.

While the makers recently announced that Lenin had entered the Rs 100-crore club, trade tracking website Sacnilk estimates the film's worldwide gross at around Rs 66.76 crore after 20 days. According to the portal, the film collected Rs 56.01 crore gross in India, with a net collection of Rs 48.84 crore.
