Akhil Akkineni, who was last seen in Agent three years ago, is all set to be seen in Lenin in less than two months. Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, Lenin is being designed as a complete cinematic package, blending strong emotions with engaging storytelling.
Bhagyashri Borse plays the female lead in the film, which was initially set to hit theatres on April 30. The film was postponed to June 26 to avoid clashing with Ram Charan's Peddi. After Peddi was postponed, reports surfaced that Lenin would be advanced to May 1, but the makers have confirmed that they're sticking with the June release date.
Now, Akhil's father, veteran actor Nagarjuna, has put out an X post promising big things for the audience watching Lenin. He wrote, "Watched the first cut of our film LENIN last night. I say this with confidence and pride… you are about to witness a new AKHIL on June 26, 2026. Mark the date!!! See you in the theatres." (sic)
The makers say they are taking their time to ensure that the film is presented in its best possible form and delivers a memorable theatrical experience. The film also features music composed by Thaman S, adding to the overall scale and appeal of the project.
Lenin is produced by Akkineni Nagarjuna and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under the banners of Manam Enterprises LLP and Sithara Entertainments, while Annapurna Studios is presenting the film.
Meanwhile, Nagarjuna is currently working on his 100th outing, King100, helmed by R Karthik, known for Nitham Oru Vaanam and Made in Korea. The film recently added Tabu to the cast, who confirmed commencing the shoot for the film. Nagarjuna is also doing another film with Annapurna Studios, scheduled for Sankranthi 2027. He is expected to star alongside Naga Chaitanya in the film which will reportedly be helmed by Kalyan Krishna Kurasala.
