Adivi Sesh is back on the big screen after a long time with a film titled Dacoit, co-starring Mrunal Thakur. Director Shaniel Deo's film has opened to mixed reviews from audiences, although it is still early days for the action drama as far box office is concerned. Meanwhile, some film fraternity members praised the film through social media. For example, actor Nani, Adivi Sesh's HIT: The Second Case co-star, wrote, "True BLOCKBUSTER with all heart. DACOIT WHAT A FILM! Just don’t miss this theatrical experience."

Nani also had effusive praise for his HIT franchise co-star, Mrunal Thakur, and the film's producer Supriya Yarlagadda. Calling Adivi Sesh's performance "fantastic," Nani said that it is his career-best. "Sesh to you and Abburi Ravi gaaru and everyone in the writing and screenplay department," the actor added in his Dacoit review. It is worth noting that Adivi Sesh also wrote the screenplay with director Shaniel Deo.

Speaking about Mrunal Thakur's performance, Nani wrote, "How beautifully you have immersed in to this one. One more feather in your hat." Regarding producer Supriya, he added, "It’s amazing how you pulled off one of the best films of the year." Seemingly referring to Adivi Sesh in his Dacoit review, the actor added, "Full power to you rockstar." He also commended the film's direction, visuals, and background score. "Big congratulations to the team," Nani signed off.

Elsewhere, netizens and critics have been rather mixed with regard to their opinion on the film, with many of them calling it 'average'. In our review, Suresh Kavirayani wrote that the film "does not offer anything particularly new, but it works as a passable action drama" and added, "Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur carry the film with their performances."

Earlier, Suniel Shetty praised the Dacoit trailer, calling it "raw, intense and packed with power." Wishing the team luck before its release, the actor added, "Supriya and the entire team for putting this together. Avdesh, Mrunal and the cast look absolutely solid… this one’s got a strong vibe."
