The Sharwanand-starrer Biker released on Friday and has been receiving positive feedback from all quarters. Even before its release, the makers held several premiere shows across the Telugu states, and the film quickly gained strong word of mouth.
Directed by Abhilash Reddy, Biker is billed as India’s first motocross-based film. Senior actor Dr Rajasekhar plays Sharwanand’s father in the film, also starring Malavika Nair as the female lead.
With the film receiving an encouraging response, the makers organised a success meet. Speaking at the event, Sharwanand first thanked Prabhas for his support. “He tweeted for our trailer and also supported us with a small promotional video before the film’s release. Love you, Prabhas anna. He will always hold a special place in my heart,” said Sharwanand.
The actor then thanked producer Vamsi, who was the first person to send him the script. “This is my fourth hit with UV Creations. After Run Raja Run, Express Raja and Mahanubhavudu, now comes Biker. I had promised a blockbuster for Sankranti, and I delivered it. Now, we have delivered another bumper blockbuster for the summer,” he said.
Sharwanand also praised director Abhilash Reddy, saying the story had inspired him deeply. “The story narrated by Abhilash Reddy inspired me a lot. The transformation I underwent and the weight I lost happened because the story moved me so much. I lost nearly 22 kilos for this character. Biker has brought many changes to my life. We said we would make a film that India would be proud of, and we did,” said the actor.
He added, “This is a film that Telugu cinema can proudly call its own. I can proudly say this is the best film of my career.”
Sharwanand further said that the racing sequences turned out so well because of action choreographer Dilip.
“To create such scenes, one needs tremendous vision and experience. Our cinematographers Yuvaraj and Madhi garu gave the film stunning visuals. Ghibran’s music is still ringing in my ears. Malavika’s screen presence is wonderful,” he said, while praising the entire team.
The actor also spoke about his upcoming film Bhogi, directed by Sampath Nandi. “I am now doing Bhogi with Sampath garu, and I will have to work equally hard for that film too. During the shoot, Malavika and I did not speak much. If there was anything to discuss, we would communicate through the director. But during the promotions, we became very good friends. Malavika is a fantastic performer,” said Sharwanand.
Sharwanand had special praise for senior actor Rajasekhar, who played his father in the film. “We all have a lot to learn from Rajasekhar garu’s humility. I have never seen a person as simple and pure-hearted as him. He is a legendary actor, and it is a matter of pride that he is part of our film. On screen, it genuinely felt like we were father and son. I learned many things from him,” he said.
Sharwanand said that younger audiences are connecting strongly with Biker. “Along with being a sports drama, the film also has a strong father-son emotion. It is a pure family film,” he said.
He added that family audiences have always supported him and requested everyone to watch the film with their children.
“This is a film you must definitely watch. It is a very genuine film. Once you see it, you will appreciate that we have made a good film,” said Sharwanand at the success meet.
Before the event began, Sharwanand arrived on a bike with Rajasekhar seated behind him, holding a trophy. The rest of the cast and crew also attended the event.
