Malavika Nair was last seen in the Telugu film Devil: The British Secret Agent in 2023. She later made a cameo appearance in Kalki 2898 AD. Though she is a talented actor, Malavika has always been selective about the films she chooses. Now, she is returning as the female lead opposite Sharwanand in Biker. Directed by Abhilash Reddy and produced by UV Creations, the film is set to hit the screens on April 3, Friday.

Talking about the film, Malavika said she heard the story in April 2024. “I loved the story and immediately accepted it. Director Abhilash has written a character with very fresh content. Biker is India’s first motocross film, and I am very excited about it. It is a high-adrenaline, high-octane film, and the music is going to be fantastic,” she said.

The actor said she cannot reveal much about her role in the film. “My character acts as a bridge in the story. Family plays a very important role in the life of a sportsman. In this film, the husband and wife make every decision together. The story unfolds across three timelines, and my character evolves through them. I have played a strong and impactful role that offers a lot of scope for performance,” she said.

Talking about her co-star Sharwanand, Malavika said both of them are introverts in real life. “We do not talk much, but our characters share very good chemistry in the film. Sharwa is very spontaneous, and we interacted even more during the promotions,” she said.

Speaking about the music, Malavika said that while the film does not have many dance numbers, it does feature one special song. “Yes, there is a song called ‘Pretty Baby’, which has been beautifully choreographed by Shekhar Master. I am sure audiences will really enjoy it,” she said.

There is a Hollywood film, F1, which revolves around car racing, and many are comparing Biker with it. Responding to that, Malavika said, “Motocross is a very difficult sport to shoot. The music and technical aspects of the film will definitely give audiences a great high. At the same time, the film has strong family emotions. The father-son emotion, in particular, will stand out. Every character in the film has a meaningful arc.”

Senior actor Rajasekhar is playing Sharwanand’s father in the film. The makers say that the father-son scenes and emotional moments have come out very well. Speaking about her collaboration with Rajasekhar, Malavika says, “It was a wonderful experience acting with him. Even though he is such a senior actor, he is very friendly and stays close to everyone on the sets. He listens to what we say, and that is a great quality. He is a very kind person.”

Talking about director Abhilash Reddy, she said he is a filmmaker with great clarity. “He knows exactly what the story and characters need. He also completes the shoot on schedule. He is a very good leader, and Biker will be very different from his previous film,” she said.

Malavika has always been selective about her projects, and her filmography clearly shows that she is never in a hurry to sign films. When asked why she is so choosy, she said, “I always want to play a new character every time. I look for roles with different layers. If such characters come my way, I will definitely do them.”

Explaining how she chooses her stories, Malavika said she always keeps the audience in mind. “Because we make films for them. I also see whether the character connects with me personally. If it feels fresh and new, I will definitely do it. I am very happy with my journey so far and hope to do many more good roles,” she said.

Finally, describing Biker in one word, Malavika said, “Thrilling.”

She goes on to add, “Audiences will thoroughly enjoy the film and, at the same time, it will leave them inspired. It will emotionally connect with both youngsters and family audiences."
