The long-speculated Puri Jagannadh–Vijay Sethupathi collaboration is finally ready to take its first public step. The makers announced on Wednesday that the film’s title and teaser will be revealed on September 28, coinciding with Puri Jagannadh’s birthday.

“Let’s celebrate Boss Puri Jagannadh’s birthday with a much-anticipated announcement. #PuriSethupathi Title & Teaser on 28th September,” read the post from the team, also confirming that the film will release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam.

#PuriSethupathi marks the first time the filmmaker teams up with Vijay Sethupathi, a performer known for his impact across genres and languages. The pairing has naturally stirred interest among cinephiles, not least because it comes at a point when Puri is looking to bounce back after the underwhelming reception of Double iSmart. 

The film also carries considerable star weight in its ensemble. Veteran actor Tabu has been signed on for a significant role, while Samyuktha takes on the female lead. Kannada star Duniya Vijay has been roped in for a key part, further underlining the project’s pan-Indian ambition.

#PuriSethupathi is jointly produced by Charmme Kaur under the Puri Connects banner and JB Narayana Rao Kondrolla of JB Motion Pictures. With the title and teaser set to drop next week, more details about the supporting cast and crew are expected to be revealed in due course.
