The makers of Pawan Kalyan starrer They Call Him OG held a small success meet on Thursday evening, to talk about the staggering reception to their film on opening day from audience. On the occasion, producer DVV Danayya gave a heartfelt speech, acknowledging the contribution of some people lesser associated with the project.

DVV Danayya began his speech by thanking Guntur Kaaram filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas. He elaborated, “If Trivikram wasn’t there, OG would never happen. When I suggested the idea of doing a film with Pawan Kalyan sir, it was Trivikram who brought up Sujeeth’s name. That’s when I contacted Sujeeth, worked on the story with him and marched ahead. If not for Trivikram, OG would never been materialised.”

DVV Danayya also thanked producer Naga Vamsi for giving him the title rights for They Call Him OG. He added, “There is such craze for this film today, and the title has a big role to play in it. Naga Vamsi gave us the title registration rights graciously.”

DVV Danayya called the key technicians of his film — Thaman S, Navin Nooli, and Ravi K Chandran — the three pillars of the film. He also acknowledged feeling a lot of pressure of delivering a hit, especially from Pawan Kalyan fans, adding that both he and Sujeeth were conscious of bringing their A-game to OG from the beginning. “Sujeeth and I were part of this 2.5 year journey, and I have seen how much he worked hard for this project. Above all, he is a Pawan Kalyan fan.”

Besides Pawan Kalyan, OG stars Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, Prakash Raj and Sriya Reddy in lead cast. The phenomenal box office journey for OG has just begun, and it remains to be seen how much OG banks on its positive word-of-mouth through its extended weekend.

DVV Danayya’s previous film was Nani-starrer Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, which too performed well at the boxoffice.
