The frenzy around They Call Him OG reached unusual heights in Telangana on Sunday, when a benefit show ticket was sold for an astonishing Rs 1,29,999 at Srinivasa Theatre in Choutuppal, Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district. The winning bidder, Amudala Paramesh from Lakkaram village, secured the prized ticket at a fan auction that saw fifteen participants competing enthusiastically.

The ticket, meant for the 1 am benefit show on September 25, had an original price of Rs 800. But the auction quickly turned into a spirited contest of loyalty, culminating in Paramesh’s six-figure bid. Comedian Vinod from Jabardasth presented the ticket, and Paramesh confirmed that the proceeds would be donated to the Jana Sena Party, led by Pawan Kalyan, who also serves as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Directed by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Entertainment, They Call Him OG is a period gangster drama set in 1980s Bombay. Pawan Kalyan plays Ojas Gambheera, a gangster returning from exile to confront Omi Bhau, portrayed by Hashmi. Priyanka Mohan, Prakash Raj, Sriya Reddy, and Arjun Das round out the supporting cast, with music by Thaman S and cinematography by Ravi K Chandran and Manoj Paramahamsa.

With advance bookings already brisk and international sales crossing notable milestones, OG is shaping up to be one of the most keenly followed releases of the year. Benefit shows, ticket auctions, and packed pre-release events suggest that when the film opens on September 25, theatres are set to witness a celebration.
