The saga of They Call Him OG’s trailer has turned into a story of its own. What was supposed to be a straightforward Sunday morning drop spiralled into yet another round of postponements, testing the patience of Pawan Kalyan’s fans and cinegoers.

At the film’s pre-release event, Kalyan himself addressed the delay, admitting, “There is still a DI issue but then I forced the makers to play the trailer here for you.” OG’s trailer was screened at the venue, but in no time, audience recordings slipped online, circulating widely across social media.

The leak has left fans torn between exhilaration and irritation. On one hand, early viewers are calling the trailer a brutal, stylish promise of what’s to come. On the other hand, many are voicing frustration with DVV Entertainment for fumbling the release schedule. The official launch, once tied to the event, is now expected sometime on Monday.

Kalyan, in his trademark candour, tried to ease the disappointment by referencing his Jalsa dialogue, “Sanjay Sahoo ki yedi antha suluva raadu. Similarly nothing comes easy to Pawan Kalyan. Sometimes it’s censors, some other times it’s something else.”

OG itself, a period gangster drama directed by Sujeeth, sees Kalyan in a never-seen-before avatar as Ojas Gambheera, with Emraan Hashmi playing antagonist Omi Bhau. Priyanka Mohan, Sriya Reddy, Prakash Raj, Arjun Das, Shaam and Harish Uthaman round out the cast. With Ravi K Chandran and Manoj Paramahamsa behind the camera and S Thaman on the score, OG is still firmly set for its worldwide release on September 25.
