One of the biggest surprises in Mirai has been its opening narration, delivered in the deep baritone of Prabhas. The voice-over, which frames the story through Ashokan mythology and epics, immediately caught attention for sounding sharper and more energetic than his usual dubbing work.
That difference was enough to spark chatter online. Some viewers began speculating that artificial intelligence had been used to clone or enhance the actor’s voice. The theory quickly made the rounds on social media, with fans debating whether the unusual pace and punch of the delivery could really be Prabhas.
Director Karthik Gattamneni while speaking to M9 News clarified saying, “Prabhas himself recorded the entire voice-over for Mirai. We did not use AI. The only adjustment was that we increased the speed slightly, so that the narration would fit within the intended runtime.”
Yet audiences continue to note how the small tweak in pace made the star’s delivery sound fresher. For years, discussions around Prabhas’ dialogue style have followed him from one project to another, now, fans are wondering whether a touch of speed could be the key to enhancing his screen voice in future films.
Released on September 12, Mirai has been holding well at the box office despite facing competition from Kishkindhapuri. The Teja Sajja–Manchu Manoj starrer pulled in Rs 47.34 crore (nett) domestically in its opening weekend, positioning Teja for another hit after HanuMan (2024).
Prabhas’ next appearances will be in Maruthi’s horror-comedy The Raja Saab and Hanu Raghavapudi’s period drama, currently referred to as Fauji.
