Vijay Deverakonda’s next project, tentatively titled VD59, was officially launched on Saturday morning with a muhurtham puja ceremony. Keerthy Suresh, who has been signed as the female lead opposite Vijay, was present on the occasion too.
Tentatively billed as VD59, the film is being produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations. Ravi Kiran Kola helms direction for the film, besides serving as the scriptwriter. Ravi is known for directing Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru, the 2019 film that marked film debut for Kiran Abbavaram.
In the technical team, Anand C Chandran is the cinematographer and Dino Shankar is the production design. Praveen Raja is in charge of the costumes. More details about the film’s primary cast and other crew members are awaited.
Among others, Allu Aravind too was present at the muhurtham ceremony, to sound the clapboard. Producer Niranjan Reddy switched on the camera, and director Hanu Raghavapudi directed the first shot.
The film marks the 59th production for Sri Venkateswara Creations. The regular shoot for VD59 will commence on October 16, the makers confirmed on the occasion. The team is tentatively eyeing a lats 2026 release. Although the makers haven’t confirmed it, the film is reportedly titled Rowdy Janardhan.
It is to be noted that while Vijay Deverakonda and Keerthy Suresh have never worked together in a film, Vijay did play a significant role in Keerthy Suresh starrer Mahanati (2018), for which she won a National award that year.
Keerthy Suresh’s last Telugu release was Uppu Kappurambu, a Prime Video original OTT film where the Mahanati actor shared screen with Suhas. Vijay’s previous release, meanwhile, was the Gowtam Tinnanuri directorial Kingdom, which released on July 31, to mixed reviews from critics and audience.
