The makers of Sri Chidambaram unveiled their film’s teaser at a grand ceremony on Wednesday. The upcoming film features Vamsi Tummala in the lead role, and popular YouTuber Gopinath in a major role.

Written and directed by Vinay Ratnam, Sri Chidambaram tells the story of a happy-go-lucky guy who struts around the village wearing his dark shades all the time, unbothered by all the taunts thrown by his neighbours. However, not many people know that underneath his cool shades lies a pool of insecurities and self-hatred, a part of himself that the protagonist will slowly begin to unlearn after falling in love with a local girl (played by Sandhya Vasishta) who compels him to confront his fears. Sri Chidambaram promises to be rustic, heartfelt and unique coming-of-tale.

Director Vinay Ratnam shares the writing credits with Ram Charan Sattiraju. Vinay’s directorial debut Saagu (2024) also starred Vamsi in the lead.

Chandu Ravi has composed music for the film. The supporting cast includes Sivakumar Matta, Kalapatha Garllapati, Arun Kumar, Tulasi, Naidu Moram, Shankar Rao.

The film is produced by Chinta Vineesha Reddy and Chinta Gopala Krishna Reddy under Srichakraas Entertainment banner, which had also produced Kiran Abbavaraam's 2024 sleeper hit KA. Meanwhile, Chinta Rajasekhar reddy is onboard as co-producer.

In the technical team, Akshay Ram Podishetti is the cinematographer while Anwar Ali is in charge of editing. Art direction is by Vishnu Vardhan Pulla. The film is yet to get a release date.
