JD Chakravarthy, who has been relatively silent over the last few years, is planning to make a solid comeback with several new projects in hand. Known for his work across Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi cinema, the actor has not signed or released any films in the past three years. However, according to a source, JD is now on a signing spree, with nearly half a dozen films and a web series in the pipeline.
Mahesh Guduru, an NRI producer is making a film titled Markanda with JD Chakravarthy in the lead. The source reveals that it is a thriller with a character-driven narrative. The cast also includes Atul Kulkarni, Rajesh Sharma, Harish Uttaman, Saptagiri, and Tamil actor Redin Kingsley. The film is directed by a debutant named Sharwanand (not to be confused with the actor).
JD has also signed another film titled Magadu, starring Rajasekhar in the lead. JD plays a negative role in this project, which is directed by Pavan Sadineni. The same director is also producing another film featuring JD in an important role. In addition, JD will be seen in a key role in an upcoming film starring Bellamkonda Sreenivas, produced by the daughters of the late filmmaker Kodi Ramakrishna.
ETV Win, which has recently entered into content-driven film production, has also signed a project with JD Chakravarthy, according to the same source. Another film titled Jatasya Maranam Dhruvam, produced by Malkapuram Shivakumar, features JD in the lead role and is directed by Shravan Jonnada. This film is reportedly set to release soon.
Apart from these projects, JD has also signed a Tamil film and a Hindi web series for Hotstar, the source added.
