Priyanka Chopra Jonas spills the beans on dubbing for herself in SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi

The first glimpse of Varanasi was recently unveiled at a massive event in Hyderabad

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, whose last Indian film project was nearly 6 years ago, is making a grand comeback here with SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi that stars Mahesh Babu in lead. The sci-fi action adventure that also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, features Priyanka as Mandakini. A few days ago, the Varanasi makers revealed her character poster which generated great discourse online, for its attempt to revamp the image of a female action star in Indian movies.

During a recent interaction on Instagram, Priyanka confirmed that she would also be dubbing for herself as well. Replying to a fan who asked whether she is dubbing for herself, Priyanka replied, “Yes I am. Practising hard.”

A few days ago, Priyanka had casually mentioned about the challenges of shooting in Telugu, which is a new language for her. She had replied to a fan on X, “It’s obviously not my first language but Rajamouli sir has been so helpful. I will be able to deliver my Telugu lines and live up to your expectations.”

Varanasi is produced by Sri Durga Arts, and has music by MM Keeravani. The first glimpse of the film was recently unveiled at a grand event in Hyderabad. More details about the project are yet to be announced.
