Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju postponed?

With a significant portion of shoot still pending, the Anaganaga Oka Raju team reportedly is struggling to complete the film by January

In past 7 years, Naveen Polishetty has carved a space for himself in Telugu cinema with films like Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya, Jathi Ratnalu, and Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty. He is now coming up with another project, Anaganaga Oka Raju, co-starring Meenaakshi Chaudhary. The film is directed by Maari and produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi. The makers had earlier announced that the film would release on January 14, 2026, coinciding with the Sankranthi festival.

However, according to a source, the team is now considering postponing the release. The source reveals that nearly 21 days of shooting is still pending, along with extensive post-production work. With so much left to be completed, meeting the January deadline seems highly unlikely, forcing the makers to look for an alternative release date.

A few promotional videos have already been released, with the makers being confident about arriving for Sankranthi at first. But the shoot has been progressing at a slow pace. One major sequence — a wedding scene — was planned to be shot in Jaipur as per Naveen’s vision, but the producer is reportedly hesitant due to the additional budget it would require.

Producer Naga Vamsi is currently recovering from setbacks, as films like Mass Jathara and Kingdom did not perform well at the box office. On top of that, the Telugu distribution of the Hindi film War 2 resulted in a substantial loss, the source added.

Given these circumstances, Naga Vamsi is said to be cautious about allocating more budget to Naveen’s film. With key portions still left to be shot, Anaganaka Oka Raju may be pushed to March or April, according to the source.
