Jatadhara, the Sudheer Babu starrer supernatural thriller, is slated for a theatrical release next week on Friday, November 7. Ahead of their film’s release, the makers have completed censorship formalities for their film. In a surprising decision, Jatadhara has received an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board.
The announcement comes as a surprise because in the promotional material released by the team so far, there’s no strong evidence that Jatadhara will have extreme depiction of violence or sex, to warrant ‘A’ rating. So clearly the makers have a great surprise in store for the audience with this thriller.
Mahesh Babu unveiled the Jatadhara trailer on Friday, October 17, where The team also unveiled a special motion poster. Presented by Zee Studios and Prerna Arora, Jatadhara promises to blend mythology, folklore and the supernatural into an immersive cinematic experience. Jatadhara also marks Telugu debut for Sonakshi Sinha. Billed as a Telugu-Hindi bilingual, the film features many notable actors from both industries like Shilpa Shirodkar, Divya Khossla, Indira Krishna, Ravi Prakash, Naveen Neni, Rohit Pathak, Jhansi, Rajeev Kanakala, and Subhalekha Sudhakar.
Venkat Kalyan and Abhishek Jaiswal co-helm the direction for Jatadhara, and the film is produced by Umesh Kumar Bansal, Shivin Narang, Aruna Agarwal, Prerna Arora, Shilpa Singhal, and Nikhil Nanda. Venkat Kalyan has also penned story and screenplay for the film. Sameer Kalyani is the cinematographer.
Upon its release on November 7, Jatadhara will clash at the box office against Rashmika Mandanna starrer The Girlfriend.
Sudheer Babu was previously seen in the relationship drama Maa Nanna Superhero, which didn't fare well at the box office.
