Vijay Sethupathi has addressed ongoing speculation surrounding his upcoming project with Telugu filmmaker Puri Jagannadh. During the Telugu promotions for his latest Tamil film Ace, Sethupathi clarified that the title Beggar and its circulating poster were not official. “That Beggar title and poster are not related to Puri Jagannadh sir’s film. It was AI-generated by some fans. It’s not the real title or official poster,” he said.

Speaking about his experience with the director, Sethupathi recalled how the script narration left a strong impact. “I thought the narration would take two days, two hours each for the first and second halves. But I ended up listening for three and a half hours in a single stretch. I enjoyed it thoroughly,” he said.

The actor added, “I have huge respect for Puri sir. I’m more excited than the audience to start working with him.” The shoot for the yet-to-be-titled film is scheduled to begin in June.

The film, produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur under Puri Connects, features Tabu in a key role. Recently, the team also announced the addition of Kannada actor Vijay Kumar. It will be released in multiple Indian languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.
