
The trailer for Vijay Sethupathi’s Ace, was unveiled by a number of his counterparts, namely Silambarasan, Sivakarthikeyan, and Arun Vijay, on Sunday. Also starring Rukmini Vasanth and Yogi Babu, the upcoming film is helmed by Arumugakumar.
The trailer shows Vijay Sethupathi as ‘Bold’ Kannan, a strange man in Malaysia who has landed there with a purpose. He befriends Yogi Babu’s character, while a romance between his character and that of Rukmini’s is teased. We then see him using his expertise in card games and devising a plan to do away with some kind of crime.
Ace also stars Divya Pillai, Babloo Prithveeraj, B.S. Avinash, Muthu Kumar, Raj Kumar, Denes Kumar, Alvin Martin, Priscilla Nair, Jasper Supayah, Kaarthick Jay, Nagulan, and Zahrinaris. The film marks the Tamil debut of Kannada actor Rukmini Vasanth.
Ace is Arumugakumar's sophomore after his debut with Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren (2018). The filmmaker is also producing the film under his banner, 7CS Entertainment. Touted to be an out-and-out commercial entertainer, the film, which has been shot extensively in Malaysia, is expected to have a blend of romance, action, comedy, and sentiment in its story.
On the technical team, Ace has music composed by Justin Prabhakaran, cinematography by Karan Bahadur Rawat, and editing by Fenny Oliver. Ace is gearing up to hit theatres on May 23.
