Veteran actors Rajendra Prasad and Archana, who famously worked together in Ladies Tailor (1986), will share the screen again after nearly 40 years in the upcoming relationship drama Shashtipoorthi. On Tuesday, the makers of Shashtipoorthi announced May 30 as their film’s release date.

Debutant actor-producer Rupeysh is producing the film under the Maa Aaie Productions banner. The official teaser of the film was released in April. Written and directed by Pavan Prabha, Shashtipoorthi tells the story of a righteous public lawyer (Rupeysh) who aims to fight for justice against all barriers. The film’s protagonist also has a personal mission to reunite his parents, who are dealing with a rocky marital life. The film also stars Aakanksha Singh in a significant role. 

Ilaiyaraaja is the music composer for the film, while MM Keeravani has penned a song for the film. The film has many veterans in the technical team, including Thota Tharani, who helms the art direction, and Karthika Srinivas, who is the editor. Actors like Prabhas Sreenu, Chalaki Chanti, Chakrapani Ananda, Muralidhar Goud, Jabardasth Ram, and Sanjay Swarup, among others, comprise the ensemble cast.

Shashtipoorthi will clash at the box office against Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom.
