Allu Arjun’s 2007 hit Desamuduru will have a grand re-release on May 10, the makers of the film announced on Sunday. The action-entertainer, directed by Puri Jagannadh, also starred Hansika Motwani in the lead cast.
Produced by DVV Danayya, Desamuduru tells the story of a righteous TV program director, Bala (Allu Arjun), whose constant fight for justice lands him in a dangerous altercation with a notorious smuggler (played by Pradeep Rawat).
Desamuduru marked the maiden collaboration between Allu Arjun and Puri Jagannadh, who later worked together in the 2013 film Iddaramamayilatho. The film was the Telugu debut of Hansika Motwani. The film also featured Rambha in a cameo appearance, besides comprising actors like Ali, Subbaraju, Ahuti Prasad, Saptagiri, Raghu Babu, and Satyam Rajesh in the ensemble cast.
Desamuduru was a massive commercial success, running for over 150 days at the domestic box office. The Puri Jagannadh directorial was also the recipient of a Nandi award for Best Choreography (for the song ‘Satte E Godava Ledu’).
