Chhaava, the historical drama starring Vicky Kaushal, maintained a strong hold at the Telugu box office on its fourth day, collecting Rs 8 crore nett as of Monday, according to data from Sacnilk. The film was released in its Telugu-dubbed version on March 7.

Kaushal plays Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, alongside co-stars Akshaye Khanna, Rashmika Mandanna, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film also features Diana Penty and is produced by Maddock Films. The soundtrack is composed by AR Rahman.

Chhaava has already surpassed the lifetime collections of Kaushal's previous hits, Uri: The Surgical Strike (Rs 244.14 crore) and Raazi (₹123.74 crore).

The CE review of the film noted, “Vicky’s Sambhaji batters a sea of Mughal soldiers with a log, and although it seems like a scene from a zombie apocalypse film, it boasts of scale and filmmaking. His subsequent torture by Aurangzeb, although true as per popular history, is grotesque and stretched. There is no sympathy nor a stirring sense of patriotism. There is just exhaustion.”
