Director Srikanth Odela, known for his debut film Dasara, is stepping into production with his maiden venture Gulabi. The film is reportedly set in the coal town of Godavarikhani in 2009 and is inspired by true events.

Odela joined hands with Anurag Reddy and Sharath Chandra of Chai Bisket Films to back Gulabi. The first-look poster features a woman draped in a black saree, walking away as red roses fall around her, suggesting a narrative that blends love and tragedy set around a border. The poster also conveys that this is an emotionally intense storyline centred on Al Amina Zariya Ruksana’s love story, described as “an intense romance that surpasses even a man’s love.”

Odela, who has written the story, will produce the film under his banner Sammakka Sarakka Creations. Gulabi will be directed by Chetan Bandi. Production is set to begin soon, with the cast and crew yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Srikanth Odela is also working on Nani's The Paradise. The recently-released glimpse of the film received widespread praise for its intriguing subject.
