Actor Gopichand is set to headline a new historical drama directed by Sankalp Reddy. The yet-to-be-titled film, produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi under the Srinivasaa Silver Screen banner, with Pavan Kumar presenting, was officially launched in a ceremony attended by the core team and special guests on Monday.

After well-made and critically acclaimed films like Ghazi and Antariksham, Sankalp Reddy is said to be venturing into historical storytelling. The film is set in the 7th century and will depict a significant but lesser-known event from Indian history. It aims to recreate the era with detailed cultural elements and period-accurate visuals.

Gopichand is expected to portray a role distinct from his previous work. The technical team includes cinematographer Manikandhan S, while Chinna will serve as the production designer, with action choreography by Prudhvi Master. More details about the cast are yet to be out.
