Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, who last headlined the 2023 actioner Devil: The British Secret Agent, is working with Pradeep Chilukuri in his next feature. The title of the film, billed an action-thriller, will be announced on Saturday, March 8.

The makers also released a special poster on the occasion, which carries the tagline, ‘The strongest woman for any man is his mother.’ Tentatively titled NKR 21, the film has been a long time in the shooting stage. The film was announced in mid 2023, and the first teaser, featuring Kalyan Ram in a fierce avatar, was unveiled in May last year. A large part of the film is shot in Vizag.

NKR 21 is produced by Ashok Vardhan Muppa and Sunil Balusu under the banners Ashoka Creations and NTR Arts. Saiee Manjrekar stars as the female lead while Bollywood star Sohail Khan reportedly plays the main antagonist. Ajaneesh Loknath is composing music for the film. The cinematography is by Ram Prasad, while editing is by Thammiraju. Srikanth Vissa is the screenplay writer.

The film also marks the on-screen return for Vijayashanthi after a hiatus of 14 years. She will be seen playing IPS officer named Vyjayanthi, paying homage to some of her most memorable works like Karthavyam, Shatruvu, and Police Lockup where she played a cop.
