Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom has surpassed all expectations for its opening day figures at the box office. Despite the last couple of Vijay Deverakonda films like Kushi, The Family Star and Liger not performing well, the day 1 figures for Kingdom are looking huge.

We had earlier reported that the film has grossed more than $3,00,000 for its USA premiere shows. The said figures have now reportedly crossed the $4,00,000 mark. Additionally, according to a few other trade reports, Kingdom has grossed more than Rs 6 crore in advances at the domestic boxoffice.

While most of these collections come from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Kingdom is also looking at strong figures in Karnataka, where it has garnered over Rs 50 lakhs in day 1 advances. What has possibly also helped the film’s boxoffice chances is the recently-released trailer and the ‘Ragila Ragila’ single, both of which were received very well by the audience.

By the looks of it, Kingdom is likely to cross the 15 crore mark, and could even aim for Rs 20 crore advance figures, at worldwide box office.

Reportedly made on a budget of 130 crores and with its theatrical rights sold at 54 crores, Kingdom needs to gross more than 108 crores at the boxoffice to break-even. So far in his career, Vijay Deverakonda has had only one 100 crore hit — Geetha Govindham, which earned 127 crores (gross), according to a report from Sacnilk.com.

Kingdom is written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The action-drama also stars Bhagyashri Borse, Satya Dev, and Manish Chaudhary in prominent roles, and introduces Venkitesh to Telugu cinema. The film is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas and is presented by Srikara Studios.
