Payal Rajput’s father passes away in Hyderabad

The actor shared an emotional tribute on social media as the final rites are set to be performed in New Delhi

Payal Rajput’s father, Vimal Kumar Rajput, passed away in Hyderabad on July 28 at the age of 68. The actor’s father had been battling cancer for some time. The final rites will be held in New Delhi on Wednesday in the presence of family members.

Payal Rajput took to Instagram to express her grief, sharing an emotional note dedicated to her father. Though you're no longer by my side, your love still guides me every day. I miss your smile, your voice, your presence. You may be gone from this world, but never from my heart. Love you papa, she wrote.

In a separate post, she added: Papa. I did everything I could to help you fight cancer, but I couldn’t succeed. I’m sorry, I’ll see you on the other side.”

The actor, known for her work in Telugu cinema, has often spoken about her close bond with her father. Following the news of his demise, condolences poured in from industry colleagues and fans on social media, many offering prayers and support to the bereaved family.

Payal Rajput rose to prominence with her debut film RX 100 (2018), which became a significant success and established her as a notable performer in Tollywood. She later appeared in films such as Venky Mama, Disco Raja, and more recently Mangalavaaram, directed by Ajay Bhupathi. She is next set to appear in Venkata Lacchimi, directed by Muni.

Vimal Kumar Rajput had largely stayed away from the limelight but was known to be a strong influence in his daughter’s life. His passing marks a profound personal loss for Payal, who is receiving widespread messages of support from fans and colleagues alike.
