Kingdom, the much-anticipated Vijay Deverakonda starrer, will hit theatres next week on July 31. Ahead of the film’s release, the makers have completed their censorship formalities, with the film receiving a U/A certificate from the Censor Board.

Directed by Jersey fame Gowtam Tinnanuri, Kingdom is an action-drama set in a fictional landscape of military rule, where Vijay reportedly plays a spy. The film marks first collaboration between the Arjun Reddy actor and Gowtam Tinnanuri.

On Friday, the team released a video with Vijay and Gowtam discussing their film with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, where Sandeep expressed his views on the downfalls of receiving an A-rating certificate. He stated, “Your film has brotherly emotions, and a nice childhood segement. It’s nice if you have U/A or U certificate. With Vijay, everyone including kids would want to watch this film. If they give an A certificate, it will lead to a lot of cuts. Everytime, I get a detailed report from my distributors who tell me how much business my films are losing because of the A rating.” In the same video, Vijay Deverakonda mentioned that the second half of Kingdom will feature considerable violence and many visuals of blood.

Earlier this week, the makers received price hike approval from AP Government for the first 10 days of theatrical run. The film will also release in Hindi under the title 'Saamrajya.'

Also starring Bhagyashri Borse, Kingdom is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas and is presented by Srikara Studios. The music direction is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Jomon T. John and Girish Gangadharan, and editing by Navin Nooli. Production design is handled by Avinash Kolla.

The official trailer of the film will be unveiled at a grand ceremony in Tirupati later today.
