In a rare appearance, actor-politician Pawan Kalyan attended the special press meet held for his upcoming movie Hari Hara Veera Mallu on Monday morning. On the occasion, he spoke about the reasons he made an exception this time, and also praised film’s presenter AM Rathnam for his many contributions and perseverance through the making of Hari Hara Veera Mallu.

Speaking first about why he usually doesn’t promote his movies, Pawan Kalyan stated, “I have had political interactions with media in recent past, but I haven’t talked so much about my movies. I usually hesitate when it comes to movies. It’s not my pride or arrogance — I don’t know how to promote my movies, or talk about them.”

‘I organised this event for AM Rathnam’

Pawan Kalyan further said that he organised the event for the AM Rathnam. He further said, “This film has to thrive. AM Rathnam is one of those people who took Telugu cinema to pan-Indian markets, who consistently dubbed Tamil movies and brought them to Telugu markets in a big way. When you have to make a film, you have to fight so many little battles — be it financial, or creative. He enhanced the creative ability of this industry. Seeing his dedication towards this project, I gave my best to the film in whatever time I could give. It’s not about success or money — it’s about standing by people who stood for the industry. ”

‘Nidhhi Agerwal single-handedly promoted this film’

Pawan Kalyan also thanked Nidhhi Agerwal for taking over the promotional activities for the film. He said, “Nidhhi single-handedly carried the burden of promoting this film. I felt very embarrassed — here was a young actress, who should be rather prioritising her caree. Instead, she was pushing the film forward on her own.”

‘Krish Jagarlamudi brought this film as a high-concept project’

On the occasion, the AP deputy CM also acknowledged the contribution of Krish Jagarlamudi, who was initially directing the film, before Jyothi Krisna took over the rein.. “Krish Jagarlamudi brought this to me as a very good, high-concept him, alongwith AM Rathnam. Due to some personal or professional reasons, he had to exit the project. Nonetheless, I heartily thank him for his foundational work on this film,” he added.

Bankrolled under Mega Surya Productions banner, Hari Hara Veera Mallu is Pawan Kalyan’s first theatrical release in 2 years. The period action-drama also stars Bobby Deol, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Anupam Kher in prominent roles.

Additionally, notable actors like Sathyaraj, Murali Sharma,  Sunil, Nassar, and Makarand Deshpande are part of the ensemble cast. The film’s technical team too boasts of prominent names like MM Keeravani (music direction), Thota Tharani (Production Design), and Manoj Paramahansa (cinematography).
