After Friday's first look, a glimpse of the upcoming biopic Garividi Lakshmi, which stars Anandhi as the famous Burra Katha performer, was unveiled on Sunday. At the beginning of the glimpse, there is a celebratory mood as the locals at a village festival await Lakshmi's arrival. A voice-over emphasises how famous she is among rural audiences.

Anandhi’s energetic on-screen entry is accompanied by traditional fanfare, while the glimpse reveals that Garividi Lakshmi performed over 10,000 shows across 15 years. It also highlights her success during the 1990s, when her audio cassettes reportedly sold in large numbers. Composer Charan Arjun’s background score adds a strong folk aesthetic, reinforcing the film’s cultural tone.

Directed by Gowri Naidu Jammu, Garividi Lakshmi is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and TG Krithi Prasad under the People Media Factory banner. Garividi Lakshmi seems to be in line with the production house's new emphasis in content-driven movies, which is a departure from its reputation for big-budget undertakings.

The biopic not only explores Lakshmi’s artistic journey but is also expected to delve into broader social issues, including the theft of women’s identities. Alongside Anandhi, the film features Rag Mayur, Ankith Koyya, Naresh, Raasi, Sharanya Pradeep, Nithin Prasanna, Kancharapalem Kishore, and Gummadi Gopala Krishna in key roles.

Technically, the film brings together cinematographer J Aditya and production designer Suresh Bhimagani. Its first single, released earlier this year, paid homage to vintage stage performances with a folk song recreated.

Garividi Lakshmi was a celebrated performer from Vizianagaram district, widely known for her Burra Katha performances across Andhra Pradesh. She used traditional storytelling not just as entertainment, but as a vehicle for social and emotional commentary. The film is yet to announce its release date.
