People Media Factory announced a biopic on the life of popular Burra Katha artist Garividi Lakshmi in December 2024. The film titled on the character’s name gained buzz for its subject matter. The makers of Garividi Lakshmi unveiled the film’s first song titled ‘Nala Jilakara Mogga.’ The song is a foot-tapping ode to vintage times of stage performances. The song is sourced from Utthara Andhra Jana Pada Geethaalu, which are yesteryear folk songs popular in the region. This particular recreation by music director Charan Arjun has a modern yet old-school flavour. The song has additional lyrics penned by Janaki Ram and vocals by Ananya Bhat, Janaki Ram and Gowri Naidu Jammu. The makers are yet to launch first look for the film.
Garividi Lakshmi has the titular character being portrayed by Aanandhi and boasts a bundle of talent with Rag Mayur, Naresh, Raasi, Sharanya Pradeep, Ankith Koyya, Nithin Prasanna, Kancharapalem Kishore, Kushalini, Bongu Satya, Prabhavathi, Gummadi Gopala Krishna among others playing key roles in the film.
Garividi Lakshmi is bankrolled by TG Vishwa Prasad and TG Krithi Prasad of People Media Factory. The film is set to deal with the pressing issue of women’s identity theft. The makers are yet to announce a release date.
Garividi Lakshmi is directed by Gowri Naidu Jammu while J Aditya cranked the camera, and Suresh Bhimagani took care of production design.
