Popular YouTuber Naveen, more famously known as Poolachokka Naveen was detained by Hyderabad police on Thursday, following an official complaint by Raja Darapuneni, the producer of recently-released Virgin Boys.

In their complaint registered at Film Nagar police station, the producer stated that Naveen had demanded a sum of Rs 40,000 from them in return for a positive review on his YouTube channel, and had threatened to give a bad review if the demand was not met.

It is to be noted that three days ago, Naveen had uploaded a video on his Youtube channel refuting all allegations against him, and offering clarification from his end. While Naveen had agreed that he was approached by the Virgin Boys makers for a promotional interview, for which he had quoted a fee, he completely denied any claims of having asked for money to give a positive review. Infact, Naveen claimed that the film's team reached out to him a day before the film's release, requesting for a positive review about their film, which the reviewer refused for.

In addition, Naveen had also demanded an apology from the producers for defamation and wrong allegations.

Earlier at a promotional event, Raja Darapuneni had openly spokenly about this issue, alleging many YouTube reviewers of extorting film producers and deliberately spreading negativity against movies, demanding an official intervention from authorities for a quick resolution for the same. In addition, the producer had used strong language against Naveen and other YouTube reviewers, warning him of dire consequences including legal action.

Directed by Dayanand Gaddam and produced by Raja Darapuneni under RajGuru Films, Virgin Boys stars Geetanand, Mitraaw Sharma, Srihan, Ronith, Jennifer Emmanuel, and Anshula in prominent roles.
