Raghav Omkar Sasidhar: Appreciation from women proves more films like The 100 need to be made

An action thriller starring RK Sagar and Dhanya Balakrishna, The 100 marked directorial debut for Raghav Omkar Sasidhar

RK Sagar-Dhanya Balakrishna starrer The 100 released last week on a limited scale but largely positive response. A few days after the film’s release, the film’s director Raghav Omkar Sasidhar expressed his gratitude for the reception, also reflecting on his journey.

Also starring Misha Narang, The 100 explored the psychological complexities of a police officer who is caught between duty, trauma, and a pursuit of justice. Raghav said explaining the same, “My film talks about justice, pain, and the silent battles many people fight every day, and we made it  with honesty. I thank everyone who walked into theatres and connected with it.”

Raghav, who made his debut with The 100, further said about his film, “The 100 was never just another cop story for me—it was about blending emotion, urgency, and responsibility in today’s climate,” shares Sasidhar.

The debutant director particular thanked the female audience members for their response. “Hearing from women who said how deeply they related to the film’s emotional layers and underlying message — that means a lot to me. It proves why we need to tell more such stories with courage.”

Besides its theatrical response, the film was also lauded by many notable personalities like former Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, Nagababu MLC., Anjana Devi, and IPS VC Sajjanar among others. Raghav added, “I am deeply thankful to respected leaders and icons like them for their encouragement. What more could I ask for my debut film?”

The director also thanked his producers Ramesh Karutoori, Venki Pushadapu, and J Tharak Ram for trusting his vision and standing by him throughout with complete support.
