Reports suggest that Nandamuri Balakrishna’s much-awaited spiritual action film, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, is likely to get postponed to December and the makers are said to be eyeing a date in the first week of the month. An official confirmation from the production team is awaited. If the film gets postponed to December, it is going to clash with Prabhas starrer The Raja Saab, which is coming on December 5.

The teaser of Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, directed by Boyapati Sreenu, was unveiled recently. The sequel to the 2021 action-drama Akhanda presents Balakrishna in a refreshed, intense look, featuring a longer beard and a sharper tone as he returns to the role of the spiritually charged vigilante.

Set against the backdrop of the Himalayas, the Akhanda 2: Thaandavam’s teaser shows Balakrishna’s sage fight against evil henchmen who threaten humanity. A voiceover towards the end describes Balakrishna’s character as “a conch well-versed in Vedas launching a war,” indicating the film’s continued blend of spiritual symbolism and larger-than-life action. Aadhi Pinisetty is hinted to play the antagonist, teased through a close-up of his eyes.

Produced by Raam Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam stars Samyuktha as the female lead. Music is composed by S Thaman, who returns after his successful work on the first part, continuing his fusion of folk and cinematic EDM elements.

Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu have previously collaborated on blockbusters like Simha, and Legend, building a strong legacy of crowd-pleasing action entertainers.
