Hari Hara Veera Mallu - Sword vs Spirit: Part 1, the much anticipated Pawan Kalyan starrer period action-drama, is finally gearing up for a theatrical release on July 24. Initially commenced under Krish Jagarlamudi, the film’s direction reins were eventually taken over by Jyothi Krisna. The project notably marks Pawan Kalyan’s first attempt at a period film. A few days ahead of the film’s release, Jyothi Krisna spoke about how he was inspired by legendary film icons like NT Rama Rao and MG Ramachandran.

Jyothi Krisna stated in a recent media interaction, “Even after he became chief minister, MGR continued to do films that were driven by message-oriented themes and honesty. I was inspired by this aspect, and created a thought-provoking song like ‘Maata Vinali’ in our film.” He added, “The essence of the song conveys to embrace positivity and righteousness in life reflecting Pawan’s ideology and appeal.”

Similarly, some of iconic mythological and folklore films starring NT Rama Rao in lead, served as inspiration for Pawan Kalyan’s character design, Jyothi Krishna noted. “NTR gaaru was admirably depicted as Lord Rama many times that represented his ability to uphold dharma. The inspiration to give bow and arrow for Pawan Gaaru in our film came from there. These weapons symbolise Pawan gaaru’s readiness to fight for justice,” he added.

Produced under the banner of Mega Surya Productions, Hari Hara Veera Mallu stars Bobby Deol as the main antagonist and Niddhi Agerwal as the female lead. MM Keeravani is the music composer for the film. On Monday, the makers confirmed a U/A certificate for their film from censor board. The film’s final duration stands at 2 hours 42 minutes.

Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming films include Sujeeth directorial OG, that is currently slated for a September release.
