Earlier this month, the makers of Ram Pothineni starrer Andhra King Taluka entered the last leg of their shooting stage, with an aim for a theatrical release in coming few months. On Monday, the team announced the release date of their first single.

While the song title is yet to be announced, the single will be unveiled on Friday, July 18. Composer duo Vivek-Mervin are on board for the film’s music direction, making their Telugu debut.

Andhra King Taluka is directed by Mahesh Babu P, marking his sophomore directorial after Mrs Shetty Mr Polishetty.  The title glimpse of the film, which was unveiled two months ago, established its protagonist (Ram Pothineni) as a big-time movie buff who adores his favourite star, and can go to any lengths to watch his film first day first show. By the looks of it, the film promises to be a novel slice-of-life drama about a fan, capturing his adventures with humour and pathos. Kannada superstar Upendra plays the titular ‘Andhra King’ in a special appearance.

While Bhagyashri Borse plays the female lead, the ensemble cast includes Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Satya, Rahul Ramakrishna, and VTV Ganesh. The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers banner. The film was officially launched in November 2024. Siddhartha Nuni helms cinematography, and National award winner Sreekar Prasad is in charge of editing. Production design is by Avinash Kolla.

Incidentally, both Ram Pothineni and Bhagyashri Borse had their previous releases — Double iSmart and Mr Bachchan, on the same day.

Meanwhile, the AKT team is expecting to finish its final shoot schedule, which is being carried out on a specially erected set in Hyderabad, by the end of this month.
