Dhanya Balakrishna will soon be seen playing the role of a police officer in the upcoming thriller Hathya. The official trailer of the film was released last week. During a recent press conference, the actor spoke about what makes her latest venture different.

Hathya is directed by Srividya Basawa. Addressing a question about the action sequences in the film, Dhanya stated, “With this film, Srividya has proven that the element of action is not necessary to bring out the element of mass elevation. She has the talent for bringing out the whistle moments for a protagonist with her writing and her dialogues alone.” The actor clarified that while Hathya doesn’t contain too much of action, she hopes to do another film with Srividya that is more action-driven.

Dhanya also mentioned that while growing up, she would always be drawn more to watching action scenes, and had always wanted to be roles like Vijayashanthi in her famous cop films like Karthamvyam and Police Lockup.

Produced by S Prasanth Reddy, Hathya is slated for a theatrical release on January 24. The thriller also stars Ravi Verma, Pooja Ramchandran, Bindu Chandramouli, Srikanth Iyengar, Raghunath Raju and Sivaji Raja.
