Venkatesh starrer Sankranthiki Vasthunam, which released on the occasion of Sankranti, has been getting huge positive response. The film already clocked Rs 131 crores gross worldwide as of Sunday, according to Sacnilk.

During a promotional interview for the film, director Anil Ravipudi hinted at the film’s sequel. He said, “There’s a huge possibility. This template has worked well. It can be placed in another situation. The title will be Malli Sankranthiki Vasthunam”

Sankranthiki Vasthunam follows Venkatesh as an ex-cop caught in a comical mission to save an important person but the catch is the mission entails juggling between his wife, played by Aishwarya Rajesh, and his ex-girlfriend, portrayed by Meenaakshi Chaudhary. The film’s music is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo. 

Produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, Sankranthiki Vasthunam features an ensemble cast including Avasarala Srinivas, Sai Kumar, Naresh, and Rajendra Prasad. Sameer Reddy cranked the camera and AS Prakash took care of production design, while S Krishna and G Adhinarayana acted as co-writers.
