Venkatesh starrer Sankranthiki Vasthunam, which released on the occasion of Sankranthi, has been performing exceedingly well at the box office, surpassing all trade predictions and expectations. After taking a great opening on Tuesday, the Anil Ravipudi directorial maintained a great hold on day 2 at the box office as well.
The film, which collected Rs 23 crore net on its opening day at the domestic box office, earned Rs 20 crores on day 2, according to a report from trade tracker Sacnilk.com. These figures are very good, considering the film opened on a holiday. The film has registered over 90 per cent occupancy in almost all major centres like Vijaywada, Warangal, Vizag, Nizamabad and Hyderabad.
In the overseas markets, the film has grossed over Rs 15 crore by the end of day two, taking its worldwide collections to Rs 65 crore. Reportedly made on a budget of Rs 50 crore, the film is expected to break-even and recover its budget within 3 days of release, on Thursday.
The comedy entertainer, which also stars Meenaakshi Chaudhary and Aishwarya Rajesh, marks Anil Ravipudi’s third collaboration with Venkatesh after F2 and F3.
