Annapurna Studios, a prominent production house, has launched the country’s first Dolby-certified post-production facility for cinema and home. The facility was inaugurated by filmmaker SS Rajamouli, known for his globally acclaimed film RRR, alongside actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, Vice Chairman of Annapurna Studios.

Developed in collaboration with Dolby, the facility aims to elevate Indian filmmaking by providing advanced tools to achieve global audio-visual standards. At the event, Rajamouli reflected on his experiences with Dolby technology during the production of RRR, which was the first Indian film to be released in Dolby. He expressed his enthusiasm about the facility, stating, “During RRR, we had to travel to Germany for Dolby Vision grading. It’s exciting to now have this technology available in India.”

Nagarjuna highlighted the studio’s commitment to innovation, noting its role as a pioneer in virtual production and now in Dolby-certified postproduction. He remarked, “As Annapurna studios marks 50 years, this collaboration with Dolby reinforces our vision to push Indian cinema forward.”

The event, held in Hyderabad, included screenings of content, including scenes from RRR, showcasing the capabilities of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
