Krishnaveni played a significant role in shaping the early years of Telugu cinema, having introduced prominent figures like Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), singer P Leela, and composer Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao to cinema.

Born on 24 December 1924 in West Godavari district, Krishnaveni began her career as a theatre artist before making her film debut as a child actor in Sathi Anasuya (1936). In 1939, she married filmmaker and studio owner Mirzapuram Raja, later producing several films under Shobhanachala Studios. She acted in notable films such as Dakshayagnam, Jeevana Jyothi, Bheeshma, Gollabhama, and Ahuti.

Her production Manadesam (1949) was particularly significant as it marked the screen debut of NTR. She was also a playback singer and contributed to Telugu cinema in multiple capacities. Over the years, Krishnaveni introduced several new artists, musicians, and directors to the industry.

Recognising her contributions, the Andhra Pradesh government honoured her with the Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu Award. Recently, she attended the diamond jubilee celebrations of Manadesam in Vijayawada, where she was felicitated. Film personalities have expressed their condolences, remembering her.
