Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s 2020 film Krishna and His Leela, which became hugely popular on OTT, will have a theatrical release on February 14 under a new title ‘It’s Complicated.’ The makers of the film held a press meet on Sunday to talk about the film’s theatrical release. On the occasion, the film’s presenter Rana Daggubati shared his thoughts on the pan-India cinema phenomenon.

Addressing a question about the phenomenon of pan-India films, Rana Daggubati stated, “pan-India is a term we coined when we couldn’t say Indian (cinema). It’s quite a stupid term, actually. I was one of the early guys who coined it and put it around. Back then, a Telugu cinema can be made for Hindi markets or a Hindi film can be made for our audience — nobody had that sense. Today in the age of internet, I don’t think anything is regional anymore."

Siddhu Jonnalagadda too spoke about the subject, adding, “It can’t be planned. If we make a film with honesty and conviction — the more local a film it, the more international it gets.”

Directed by Ravikant Perepu, the film also starred Shraddha Srinath, Shalini Vadnikatti, and Seerat Kapoor in prominent roles.
