Chiranjeevi was the chief guest at the pre-release event of Laila, an upcoming film starring Vishwak Sen. Addressing the gathering, he praised Vishwak and expressed his support for the actor, despite Vishwak being an admirer of Nandamuri Balakrishna and Jr NTR.

Referring to a journalist’s question on this, Chiranjeevi remarked, “I was amazed by Vishwak's response that TFI has just one compound. I appreciate him.” He emphasised that a successful film benefits the entire industry, providing work for cine workers and encouraging producers to reinvest. “There are no compounds in the industry; there is only one – the cinema compound for everyone.”

During his speech, Chiranjeevi announced his next project, a comedy directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Sahu Garapati. “The film is going to commence in summer. It’s going to be a laugh riot from start to finish. I’m attempting a full-fledged entertainer after so many years, and I’m eagerly looking forward to it. Whenever Anil comes home to narrate the scenes, we both end up laughing out loud. I believe that when we love the story, it will surely reach the audiences,” he said. The film will be jointly produced by Chiranjeevi’s daughter, Konidela Sushmitha, under Goldbox Entertainment, along with Shine Screens.

Chiranjeevi also shared his pride in Pushpa 2, calling it a major success for the industry.

Directed by Ram Narayan, Laila stars Vishwak Sen in a unique role, featuring a female makeover. Akanksha Sharma plays the female lead, and the film is set for release on February 14.
