Producer Singanamala Ramesh Babu interacted with the media on Wednesday. When asked about his experience with projects like Komaram Puli (2010), starring Pawan Kalyan and Khaleja (2010), starring Mahesh Babu, he said, “Back then, films wouldn’t be shot for 3 years. At best, a film’s shooting went for 9 months or 1 year. But both these films took 3 years each. It was bad luck. To bear all maintenance costs for that long, only a producer would know the pain. I lost 100 crores in both the films. None of the heroes supported me. They didn’t even show sympathy.” Both films released to massive hype but failed to live up to expectations.

Further explaining reasons for the shoot delays on both those films, he said, “When we were shooting Komaram Puli, Pawan Kalyan gaaru was busy with Prajarajyam Party. He was occupied with that. Even for Khaleja, there were many reasons.”

The producer said in the interaction that he was involved in a false case, in which he was accused of cheating to the tune of Rs 14 crore. A case was filed against him alleging that he sold 10 acres of land in Mahabalipuram to several people without their knowledge. Recently, the Nampally court acquitted him due to lack of evidence and the properties are still in his name. The senior producer announced that he would be venturing into production again because of his passion.
