The makers of Baapu released the first single from the film titled ‘Re Rela.’ The song is a rooted Telangana folk number with resonating vocals by Madhu Priya. The folk song has meaningful lyrics by Kasarla Shyam. The RR Dhruvan musical gives the needed rural texture for this dark comedy thriller.

Set in a Telangana village, the teaser for Baapu shows a grandfather character, played by Sudhakar Reddy of Balagam fame, committing suicide. There seem to be multiple perspectives and strong motivations for this event. Several other members of the old man’s family also talk about committing the act. The film promises a mind-bending thriller packed with punchy performances.

Baapu, billed as a rural dark comedy, is written and directed by Dayakar Reddy. The drama stars Kethiri Sudhakar Reddy, Brahmaji, Avasarala Srinivas, Dhanya Balakrishnan, Mani Aegurla, Aamani, and others.

Baapu has cinematography by Vasu Pandem and editing by Aalayam Anil. The film is produced by Raju and Ch Bhanu Prasad Reddy of Comrade Film Factory. The film is releasing on February 21 in theatres.
