The Raja Saab, the upcoming Prabhas starrer horror-comedy is gearing up for a massive worldwide release on January 9. However, the makers have not managed to create sufficient buzz for their film as is expected from a Prabhas starrer.

During a recent interview, the film’s producer TG Vishwa Prasad stated that the non-theatrical business for their film didn’t fetch the expected revenue, adding that they accept the circumstances under a declining market scenario. However, the clip went viral, raising further questions about The Raja Saab makers’ confidence in their product.

On Sunday morning, TG Vishwa Prasad issued an official statement, clarifying his remarks. He penned on his X page, “There’s a lot of noise around the business of our biggest film. We don’t discuss internal spends or numbers publicly. What truly matters to us and the fans is the theatrical impact. Post release, we will officially share the worldwide box-office figures. Cinema moves in phases.”

Further reflecting on the theatrical and non-theatrical business distribution, Vishwa Prasad added, “Today, the non-theatrical market is going through a natural correction, while theatres continue to deliver the real verdict. Even in this phase, our film has secured the highest non-theatrical value available today. Comparisons are unnecessary.” Calling his film a  ‘massive horror-fantasy crafted to roar in theatres, the producer added, “Let the screens speak.”

Directed by Maruthi, the film also stars Malavika Mohanan and Nidhhi Agerwal as female leads. The makers recently released their new single ‘Sahana Sahana,’ which received mixed response from audiences for its ordinary choreography and production values, despite carrying a melodious tune.

Arriving on January 9, The Raja Saab is the first of many Sankranthi releases lined up that week. The other films that will follow are Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, Anaganaga Oka Raju, Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, and Nari Nari Naduma Murari.
