The primary team of upcoming romantic action thriller Dacoit — Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur, Anurag Kashyap and director Shaneil Deo — were present in Hyderabad on Thursday morning to unveil the Telugu teaser of their film, and also interact with media. On the occasion, Adivi Sesh addressed the much-discussed subject of his almost 4-year-long absence from the big screen even as he returns with Dacoit.

Adivi Sesh said, “When I am usually doing two projects, one of those is my own script while the other is a collaboration with a director who brought me a script. Like while doing Major, I did Hit 2. But this time, I thought, ‘why not do two passion projects at once?’ I sat down to work on the scripts for Dacoit and G2 at once. That was a mistake.”

Adivi shared that his next couple of projects will have his involvement only as an actor. "There are a couple of scripts I've liked. I will do them without my involvement as a writer."

Adivi Sesh also confirmed a 2026 release for G2. He added, “Like Dacoit is arriving on Ugaadi festival. I promise G2 will also arrive on a festival.” G2, which also stars Wamiqa Gabbi and Emraan Hashmi, is directed by Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi.

The media interaction in Hyderabad was a very brief one, since Dacoit team had to rush to Mumbai for the Hindi teaser launch. Adivi Sesh also informed that the Hindi teaser cut is a completely different one from Telugu teaser.

Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, Dacoit is slated for bilingual release on March 19, 2026. The film will also released in dubbed versions of Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
