While the Akhanda 2 makers haven’t confirmed a new release date for their film yet, it is highly likely that the Balakrishna starrer will arrive on theatres on December 12. However, if it happens, the revised plans by Akhanda 2 team will likely put a major dent in the release plans of Mowgli, Psych Siddhartha, Drive and Eesha that are scheduled to release on December 12. 

Mowgli remains the biggest film of the lot, and will accordingly suffer the biggest blow. On Monday evening, actor-filmmmaker Bandi Saroj Kumar expressed his displeasure at the ‘irresponsible behaviour’ by the Akhanda 2 team.

Taking to his X page, Saroj Kumar, who plays the main antagonist in Mowgli named Nolan, penned, “This is most irresponsible behaviour from 14ReelsPlus.” Reminding the Akhanda 2 makers of the larger-level damages caused to other films, Saroj Kumar added, “If something is confirmed, the publicity costs of the films that are supposed to be released on the 12th will be saved. Without giving any announcement, what are you achieving by keeping the fans, the film industry, and the distributors and exhibitors awake, Except for a bad reputation?”

The actor-filmmaker concluded his note by pleading the Akhanda 2 makers to officially announce the release date at the earliest date.

Mowgli, directed by Colour Photo fame Sandeep Raj, stars Roshan Kanakala and Sakkshi Mhadolkar in the lead. Produced by People Media Factory, the action-romance has music by Kaala Bhairava. It remains to be seen if Mowgli makers will change their release date if Akhanda 2 team chooses to arrive on December 12 indeed. 

Meanwhile, the official announcement from Akhanda 2 team is likely to arrive on Tuesday morning.
