The unexpected release postpone of Akhanda 2, the much-anticipated Balakrishna-Boyapati Srinu film, has come as a major shock for entire Telugu film industry. On one hand, where leading producers are stepping forward to help the Akhanda producers, the release postponement is also bound to rattle the plans for other films in coming few weeks that will have a much tougher time at the box office, if they end up in a clash with the Balakrishna starrer.
On Saturday night, The Raja Saab producer TG Vishwa Prasas penned a long note, expressing his displeasure behind the reasons for Akhanda 2 postponement. He penned, “The issue with the release of Akhanda 2 movie has deeply disturbed me. It is unfortunate to see movies being stopped just before release and the impact it has on various others in the industry.”
In the same note, TG Vishwa Prasad also found it essential to issue a clarification about The Raja Saab, also addressing an attempt to disrupt their film’s release plans. He added, “It is deeply unfortunate that a last-minute attempt was made to disrupt a film’s release. Such actions deserve strong condemnation — cinema deserves integrity, not interference.” The Raja Saab producer also shared that all raised investments on the film ‘are fully cleared through internal funds’, and that the remaining interest will be settled shortly before business opens.
Referring to these disruptions as irresponsible and ill-motivated, TG Vishwa Prasad called for clear legal guidelines to prent such actions by third parties in the future. “The affected stakeholders should also consider appropriate legal action against such irresponsible attempts to derail releases, so that deterrence is established for the future.”
As a concluding note, TG Vishwa Prasad extended his wishes to the makers of many upcoming big-scale projects like Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Bhartha Mahashayaku Wigynapati, Anaganaga Oka Raju, Nari Nari Naduma Murari, Jana Nayagan, and Para Sakthi, wishing them ‘glorifying success.’
