The makers of The Girlfriend, starring Rashmika Mandanna and Dheekshith Shetty, has confirmed the release of its second single. Titled ‘Em Jarugutondi…,’ the lyrical track will be unveiled on August 26.

The song is written by lyricist Rakendu Mouli and sung by playback singer Chinmayi. It is described as a soothing love number and is composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab, who is also scoring the film’s soundtrack.

Produced jointly by Dheeraj Mogilineni and Vidya Koppinedi under the Geetha Arts and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment banners, The Girlfriend is being presented by Allu Aravind. The film is directed and written by Rahul Ravindran, whose earlier work includes Manmadhudu 2.

The Girlfriend’s teaser, released earlier this year on Rashmika’s birthday, offered only a brief look at her role, suggesting a character-driven story without giving away details of the plot. Rashmika is set to play the central character, while Dheekshith Shetty, who has appeared in films such as Dasara, plays the male lead.

The technical crew of The Girlfriend includes cinematographer Krishnan Vasant, costume designer Shravya Varma, and production designers S Ramakrishna and Mounika Nigoti. Rashmika Mandanna was most recently seen in Kuberaa. The film is yet to get a release date.
